Project Description

Claudia & Ryan Wedding

Sydney, Australia

Claudia and Ryan were keen to avoid a predictable ‘pretty’ wedding look and wanted something more contemporary and striking. Pops of dark aubergine and deep red punctuated the tropical white and green. The result was a luxurious, organic look that was not too ‘beachy’ as the venue had stunning panoramic views that spoke for themselves.

The guests entered the garden ceremony by walking through the venue, so a huge central arrangement was the focal point with Olive branches, tropical leaves, fig branches, lotus flowers and huge tropical leaves. Multiple suspended arrangements were overhead. I envisaged these as ‘brooches’ or ‘jewels’ to break up the white ceiling instead of an overwhelming green canopy so the resulting look was more refined and delicate. Spinafex grasses and vines from local beaches, foraged in the days prior, created a wonderful link to the surrounding area.

The vessels and candlesticks, sourced from Chicago, were a mix of glass, ceramic, brass and leather adding further contemporary detail & dimension to the story. Luxurious Orchids, lotus flowers, pitcher plants, textural leaves and Rhipsalis tendrils draped out of the vessels and snaked over the tables creating strong and unusual silhouettes into the candlelit evening. I loved the clear vision Claudia had and took great pleasure in pulling it all together.
